Profile SPC
Narrow V-belts are covered, offer improved power transmission and feature the SPZ (9.7), SPA (12.7), SPB (16.3) and SPC (22) profiles. Thanks to their trapezoidal cross-section, they function as drive belts and are preferably made of rubber with a textile or steel cord core (endless).
The friction of these belts in the wedge-shaped groove of the belt/grooved pulley is significantly higher than with a flat contact surface; This fact often speaks in favor of using V-belts, as this higher friction in turn significantly reduces the forces on the bearings.
Even in confined spaces, they can transmit significantly higher torques than flat belts, for example. However, V-belts are less efficient than flat belts.
Narrow V-belts are often arranged side by side. Most types of V-belts gradually stretch during use (except for maintenance-free versions), which means that if they need to be replaced, all narrow V-belts must be replaced at the same time and then reinstalled and tensioned so that they are properly aligned with each other.
