SKF precision rail guides are precision rolling bearings for linear motion and are therefore ideal for use in all types of machine tools, machining centers, handling systems, special machines, fixtures, measuring and testing equipment.

The rail guides in the “Modular Range” series are the first interchangeable rail guide concept on the market to include all known guide systems, including the improved ‘R’ rail – the “LWRE” type.

The SKF Modular Range is a self-contained system of rail guide modules that allows individual selection of rails and rolling elements.

SKF precision rail guides are available in many designs, sizes, and standard lengths and can be equipped with ball, roller, needle roller, or sliding bearings to suit the specific application.

The scope of delivery also includes accessories for fastening and sealing.

SKF precision rail guides enable simple, modular construction of backlash-free and cost-effective rail guides of any type and length with

• low heating

If there is a risk of cage wandering (especially in vertical installations), precision rails of the LWRE-ACS (Anti-Creeping System) series are available to eliminate this problem.

For applications involving high acceleration or extremely short, high-frequency strokes, SKF can offer rail guides with plastic sliding pads. These rail guides can also be installed in machine tools where the damping characteristics of the rail guides are more important than the advantage of low rolling friction.

For installation cases where rail guides are not suitable, e.g. due to the limited travel of the rail guides, other linear guidance systems from SKF are available.

All common precision rails can also be purchased in an advantageous kit package.
