Quick and easy measurement of belt vibrations and belt tensions
The SKF belt frequency meter consists of a hand-held measuring device and an optical sensor connected by a cable.
The sensor uses an infrared beam to detect belt vibrations.
An LED integrated into the sensor emits a narrow orange light beam, which enables precise sensor alignment (the actual measurement is performed using invisible infrared light).
The measuring device compares the measurement signal with the vibration of a quartz crystal and calculates the natural frequency of the belt on this basis. The result is displayed in vibrations per second (Hertz).
The measuring device can also display the belt tension (in Newton or pound-force) if the operator has entered the weight and length of the belt.
